Your equipment. The right filing scope.

Cargo Van MC Number Service: Confirm the Need First

A light van can still need authority for for-hire interstate property transportation. But not every courier business needs the same registration. Confirm your freight and business model before paying for an MC filing.

One-time service fee. Agency, insurance, equipment, and vendor costs are separate. Private service—not FMCSA.

Who this service fits

An independent van carrier whose for-hire interstate property activity and required registration path have been confirmed, with an insurer prepared to cover that use.

Pause before purchasing if…

Private carriage of your own goods, an unverified local courier model, or a leased-on arrangement treated as independent authority by default. Do not buy an application simply because a platform asks for an identifier.

Existing or revoked authority, transfers, specialized cargo, and uncertain registration paths require confirmation. Do not assume a standard new-carrier package covers them.

Resolve these facts before spending

  1. Name the business you are actually opening

Describe expedited freight, final-mile delivery, courier work, or another specific use. Identify whose property you transport, who pays you, and whether freight retains an interstate character.

  2. Do not reuse a heavy-truck checklist blindly

Record the VIN-specific manufacturer rating. Weight-based safety, CDL, plate, and fuel-tax requirements are distinct from the authority decision. Buy only applicable coordination rather than every credential in a larger truck package.

  3. Confirm platform and insurance terms

Obtain the customer or platform contract and give the licensed agency the real paid-delivery profile. A personal auto policy or an unconfirmed platform requirement is not a substitute for a correct registration decision.

Concrete work. Visible boundaries.

Authority Only: the included service work

  • LLC formation in your base state
  • EIN acquisition
  • USDOT + MC application (Motus filing)
  • BOC-3 process agent designation
  • UCR registration for the current year
  • Docket monitoring through the 21-day protest period
  • Email support until authority reads ACTIVE

Contact us before purchasing. The standard package includes services that may not all apply to a light van, and this page does not promise a reduced price. Our heavy-truck cost planner is not a cargo-van quote.

Outside this tier

  • Insurance broker coordination
  • Compliance program setup
  • Factoring, TMS, or ELD selection

Your handoff into the service

Start with the operating description and current agency instructions. Once the need is established, confirm a written remaining-work scope and keep the legal entity identity consistent between the application and commercial insurance records.

Completed entity or federal records are reviewed before new work. No duplicate filing, automatic discount, or transfer of prior vendor payments is promised.

What stays with the owner

You provide accurate business, address, equipment, driver, and cargo facts; keep account access; personally complete required identity verification; authorize submissions and contracts; and pay separate costs.

A licensed agency arranges insurance. Agencies grant registrations and authority. You maintain records, renewals, safe equipment, qualified drivers, taxes, and compliant daily operations after setup.
