MC filing service: the short answer

Provider
Day One Authority is a private U.S. trucking filing and launch-support service, not FMCSA or a government office.
Service fees
Authority Only: $599 USD one-time service fee.
Paid separately
Applicable government filing fees, state formation fees, BOC-3 and UCR charges, insurance premiums, plates, taxes, equipment, and vendor costs are not included in the service fee.
Approval and timing
FMCSA controls authority approval and timing. An MC number or pending application is not permission to haul.
Owner responsibilities
Provide accurate business and operating details, complete owner-only identity verification, authorize filings, and maintain applicable credentials and compliant operations.

What Authority Only handles

  • LLC formation in your base state
  • EIN acquisition
  • USDOT + MC application (Motus filing)
  • BOC-3 process agent designation
  • UCR registration for the current year
  • Docket monitoring through the 21-day protest period
  • Email support until authority reads ACTIVE

For an existing entity or docket, confirm remaining work before buying. We do not submit duplicate registrations merely to complete a package checklist.

What remains with you

Confirm the business identity, actual principal address and garage, equipment, drivers, cargo, and commerce model. Maintain access to owner-controlled accounts, complete personal verification, authorize filings, and pay third-party costs.

A licensed insurance agency arranges coverage and the appropriate financial-responsibility filing. You remain responsible for required safety programs, driver and vehicle records, taxes, renewals, and compliant operations.

What is not included

  • Insurance broker coordination
  • Compliance program setup
  • Factoring, TMS, or ELD selection

No agency approval, audit outcome, first load, revenue, or profitable-operation guarantee. Reinstatement, transfer, and revoked-authority repair are not represented as included services.

A realistic activation sequence

FMCSA guidance describes 20–25 business days for new applications, with further review potentially taking longer. Required accepted insurance and process-agent filings are separate gates. Verify the current registration path and granted status rather than planning around a guaranteed activation day.
