Box Truck Authority Setup Service

Opening an independent box-truck carrier? We help organize the application handoff after you confirm what the truck carries, for whom, and in what commerce. A local delivery route is not enough evidence to decide whether federal authority applies.

One-time service fee. Agency, insurance, equipment, and vendor costs are separate. Private service—not FMCSA.

Who this service fits

Owners launching an independent for-hire interstate property operation who have verified cargo classification, truck ratings, driver qualifications, and an insurance path.

Pause before purchasing if…

Owners moving only their own goods who assume every box truck needs MC authority; pure intrastate operators without a state-rule review; household-goods movers expecting general-property authority to cover moving services.

Existing or revoked authority, transfers, specialized cargo, and uncertain registration paths require confirmation. Do not assume a standard new-carrier package covers them.

Resolve these facts before spending

  1. Trace the shipment, not only the route

Record the freight origin and intended destination. A delivery inside one state can be part of interstate commerce. Obtain the actual customer and cargo facts before purchasing federal application work.

  2. Identify property versus household goods

General freight, retail deliveries, and household-goods moving are not interchangeable authority and insurance profiles. Bring a written description of the work rather than asking a filing provider to infer it from the body style.

  3. Verify ratings and driver responsibilities

Use the truck manufacturer rating and intended configuration. CDL, medical qualification, safety records, hours-of-service, and tax credentials require their own applicability decisions; a box-truck service is not a blanket exemption review.

Concrete work. Visible boundaries.

Authority Only: the included service work

  • LLC formation in your base state
  • EIN acquisition
  • USDOT + MC application (Motus filing)
  • BOC-3 process agent designation
  • UCR registration for the current year
  • Docket monitoring through the 21-day protest period
  • Email support until authority reads ACTIVE

The filing fee does not include the truck, delivery contracts, liftgate or loading equipment, insurance, or dispatch service. Applicable driver and vehicle programs remain yours unless a broader written scope includes setup assistance.

Outside this tier

  • Insurance broker coordination
  • Compliance program setup
  • Factoring, TMS, or ELD selection

Your handoff into the service

Prepare a single delivery profile covering customer contracts, commodity, truck rating, radius, and garaging. Have the licensed insurer confirm the intended use before the application and policy describe different businesses.

Completed entity or federal records are reviewed before new work. No duplicate filing, automatic discount, or transfer of prior vendor payments is promised.

What stays with the owner

You provide accurate business, address, equipment, driver, and cargo facts; keep account access; personally complete required identity verification; authorize submissions and contracts; and pay separate costs.

A licensed agency arranges insurance. Agencies grant registrations and authority. You maintain records, renewals, safe equipment, qualified drivers, taxes, and compliant daily operations after setup.
